Arsenal fans urged to discuss safe standing at Emirates

An Arsenal fans’ group has called on supporters of the English Premier League football club to complete an online survey regarding the possible introduction of safe standing in certain areas of the team’s Emirates Stadium home.

The Arsenal Supporters’ Trust (AST) is leading an effort for safe standing at the stadium and this week held a meeting with representatives from a number of organisations, including the English Football League, over the matter.

The fans’ group, which has also held discussions with the Premier League, is now reaching out to supporters to gather their opinion on safe standing and establish if there is a demand for such a system.

“This survey is open to all Arsenal fans and we are hoping for a large response so that we can represent the views of as many people as possible on this important topic,” the AST said in a statement on its website.

Premier League rival Manchester United is also reported to be considering safe standing as part of proposed plans to develop Old Trafford.
