Monster Jam going from strength to strength ahead of 2017 World Finals

Monster Jam, a live motorsport event tour and television show, has revealed that 2016 was its best year for international business since it began touring outside of the United States in 2001.

Monster Jam performed in 12 countries and 24 cities outside of the US in 2016. Since its inception, the tour has performed in a total of 26 countries and 52 cities around the globe.

Last year it visited four new markets – Osaka, Japan; Rotterdam, Netherlands; Frankfurt, Germany and Santiago, Chile. Forty-six international performances were staged in 2016, attracting a total attendance of over 600,000 people, which represents a year-on-year rise of five per cent. Sixty trucks travelled outside the US, 39 of which held unique branding.

Osaka’s event was staged at a 5,500-seat, custom-built stadium, while Frankfurt’s performance was held at Commerzbank Arena, home of Bundesliga football club Eintracht Frankfurt.

Stadion Feijenoord, home of Eredivisie football team Feyenoord, hosted Rotterdam’s event, with Santiago’s 15,000-seat, multi-purpose Movistar Arena also showcasing the Monster Jam experience to Chilean fans.

Monster Jam recently announced engagements in the Korean capital of Seoul, Riyadh in Saudi Arabia and Buenos Aires, Argentina. Each of the events will mark first-ever engagements for Monster Jam.

This year’s Monster Jam World Finals will be held in Las Vegas on March 24-25, while the Monster Energy Supercross at New York City’s MetLife Stadium will be staged on April 28-29.
