AEG to develop mixed-use entertainment district in Nashville

Sports and entertainment giant AEG has agreed a deal with live entertainment company Southwest Value Partners (SWVP) whereby it will be permitted to purchase a four-acre plot of land to develop a new multi-purpose entertainment district at SWVP’s Nashville Yards.

The two parties will work to integrate all aspects of the district into the infrastructure, architecture and pedestrian connectivity of SWVP’s already-announced Nashville Yards project. The partnership will result in a community that will feature a 15-acre modern urban retail, hospitality, creative Class A office, residential housing and entertainment facilities.

A 4,000-capacity music venue will serve as a focal point of the district, which will also feature a Regal Cinemas theatre complex, a 600-700-seat live entertainment club, a boutique hotel and a range of food and beverage offerings.

Nashville Yards is a multi-purpose project that will span the western edge of downtown Nashville and stretch from Broadway north past Church Street. The first site within Nashville Yards is scheduled to open in 2020.

The AEG-developed district will be located at 10th Avenue between Commerce Street and Church Street. The company’s agreement with SWVP also allows it to acquire an additional 1.5-acre plot of land adjacent to the district.

“For several years, AEG has been looking for the right venue development opportunity in Nashville, one of the fastest growing cities in the country,” said Jay Marciano, chief operating officer of AEG and chairman and chief executive of AEG Presents. “A development offering like this has to not just be special, but be remarkable. AEG is very pleased to be partnering with Southwest Value Partners and the City of Nashville in this exciting entertainment venture.”
