Glasgow Warriors team up with bus company on travel initiative

Scottish Pro14 rugby union club the Glasgow Warriors has entered into a partnership with the First Glasgow bus company in a move that will grant fans with free bus travel on match days.

Supporters travelling to and from the Warriors’ Scotstoun Stadium will be able to do so for free as part of the agreement, which has been signed following a string of one-off ticket deals last year.

Bus tickets will be made available via the First Glagow mTickets app, with fans able to use services including The One, 2, 3, X4 and 6 to travel to games.

“Following the successful trials last season, where First Glasgow decided to partner with us to help promote the launch of their mTickets app, we’re very pleased that First Glasgow have extended this partnership to enhance our supporters’ journey to and from Scotstoun,” Nathan Bombrys, the Warriors’ managing director, said.

“It’s fantastic that we can do a deal that not only benefits our supporters but also the local community. First Glasgow provide excellent services across the city, and this offer of complimentary bus travel will make it even easier for our supporters to leave their car at home and attend Glasgow Warriors matches by bus.”

First Glasgow managing director, Andrew Jarvis, added: “It’s great to be working in partnership with Scotland’s most successful rugby club to deliver a great match-day deal for fans.

“By teaming up to provide free travel for supporters, we are making it easier and more appealing for fans to travel to and from Scotstoun Stadium. With more fans travelling by bus, we can also reduce congestion and journey times on match days.”
