AI holograms could lead fans at stadiums

Sports fans could soon be led to their seats by a hologram of their favourite players after VNTANA and Satisfi Labs developed the first-ever artificial intelligence hologram concierge.

Targeting sports, hospitality and retail, the industry-first experience allows the hologram to react and respond to consumers’ questions without the need for wearables or a touchscreen device while collecting data on the consumer.

The hologram concierge is powered by VNTANA’s patented hardware and software that projects an interactive 3D persona who answers questions based on Satisfi Labs’ custom AI.

“Our hologram technology has helped numerous brands better connect and engage with their consumers, and we are thrilled to offer this new addition on our platform,” said Ashley Crowder, chief executive and co-founder of VNTANA. “By partnering with Satisfi, we are able to integrate AI and AR for the first time, so our holograms can interact with consumers on a more advanced level, while using our trusted platform to track data to create more personalised experiences and advertising.”

At sporting events, the hologram, who can be an actual player, can direct fans to their favourite concessions or help them find their seats. For hospitality clients, guests can check into their room and get restaurant recommendations and even make a reservation.

So, for example, Thierry Henry or Steven Gerrard could direct fans to their seats at the Emirates Stadium or Anfield, while Dan Marino might point Miami Dolphins supporters to the hospitality area at the Hard Rock Stadium.

“We are super excited to partner with VNTANA and launch what promises to be an unprecedented opportunity for the development of both AI and Holograms,” said Don White, chief executive and co-founder of Satisfi Labs.

“Consumers will be transfixed by the technology and will truly appreciate the ease and intelligent interaction they can have with the hologram.”

How does the Hologram Concierge work?

  • The consumer stands in front of the hologram display and the concierge greets them with a custom message.
  • The consumer asks a question, the hologram listens and immediately responds appropriately.
  • The system uses facial recognition to track consumer data and record the conversation to determine product preferences.
