AC Pisa reveals plan for new stadium

Italian Serie B football club AC Pisa 1909 has finalised plans for a new stadium, with the venue to stand on the site of the team’s current Arena Garibaldi Stadio Romeo Anconetani home.

The Lanazione.it website has said that the new stadium will cost approximately €30m ($35.6m/£26.9m) and offer fans a “modern and friendly environment.”

Studio di Architettura Iotti-Pavarani has been appointed to lead the project and, as a result, the club has formed a technical committee featuring officials from the company as well as senior staff at AC Pisa.

Plans set out by the team include a commitment to respect the architecture that surrounds the new stadium, both in the immediate vicinity of the venue and also in relation to the historical sites nearby.

AC Pisa’s current Arena Garibaldi Stadio Romeo Anconetani home has a capacity of 25,000 seats, although it is not yet clear how big the new stadium will be.
