Optus Stadium beers revealed

Western Australia’s Gage Roads Brewing Company has provided details of the beers and ciders it will supply at Optus Stadium.

Throughout the general admission areas, fans will be able to choose from three different beers and one cider: Single Fin Summer Ale, Atomic Pale Ale, ALBY Crisp Lager and Hello Sunshine Cider.

Those hoping to drink at the 60,000-capacity, soon-to-be-opened stadium will be paying the same price as they have previously at Domain Stadium and the WACA Ground. A 425-millilitre cup of beer at the multi-purpose Optus Stadium will be Aus$8.50 (€5.52/£4.91/$6.76).

All 10 Gage Roads products will be available throughout premium areas of the stadium, including the full-strength Alby Draught lager, 2016 AIBA Champion Australian Beer Little Dove, Sleeping Giant IPA, Narrow Neck Pale Ale, and Breakwater Australian Pale Ale.

Optus Stadium chief executive Mike McKenna said: “Gage Roads is a fantastic local company, producing quality beers. We’re thrilled to be providing a broad selection for patrons, including two special edition beers that will only be poured at Optus Stadium.

“Stadium fans will have a choice of beverages that are brewed just 14 kilometres away at a price consistent with other major sporting venues.”

Meanwhile, it has been announced that Optus Stadium’s media facility will be known as the Dennis Cometti Media Centre in honour of the Western Australian commentary legend.

Cometti has had a distinguished career both in television and radio, covering AFL, including 16 Grand Finals, several Olympic Games and more than 100 matches of Test cricket on radio.

The media facility is supported by media interview rooms that can accommodate up to 180 journalists and two 1,000 square metre external broadcast areas, located on the northern side of the stadium.
