Mets renovate premium lounge

Major League Baseball team the New York Mets has opted to undertake a major renovation of the Delta Lounge at its Citi Field ballpark in an effort to appeal to the franchise’s top ticket-holders.

The project includes construction of a new Home Plate Lounge that offers free food, a private bar and access to the best seats at Citi Field.

The Home Plate Lounge will be open to fans sitting in the first eight rows of sections 11 to 19. Fans can use their tickets to get free food, snacks and drinks inside the facility, as well as from concessions throughout the ballpark.

Work on the Home Plate Lounge is scheduled for completion ahead of the 2018 season.

Kenny Koperda, senior director of new business development at the Mets, told Fox Business: “From a corporate entertainment perspective, what we found is a lot of companies look at sporting events as a business tool. It’s an extremely attractive option to entertain and enjoy America’s pastime.

“As an organisation we always have our eyes peeled to build upon the fan experience.”
