Eden Park signs partner to reduce locals’ food bills

The Eden Park stadium in Auckland, New Zealand has entered into a partnership with food and beverage wholesaler Gilmours Mt Roskill in a move that will provide local residents with exclusive offers on the company’s products.

Gilmours Mt Roskill becomes an official supplier of the stadium. Members of the Eden Park’s supporters’ club, The Hood, will benefit from the partnership through exclusive offers on their food and beverages purchases.

Members will be given a Gilmours card for use in store and online. Some 850 households have signed up to The Hood since it was launched in late 2017.

Eden Park chief executive Nick Sautner said: “This partnership is very much in the spirit of keeping it local. We’re supporting this locally owned and operated business, and at the same time delivering added value for our community.”

Sautner added: “With more than 115 years of history, Eden Park is an integral part of the neighbourhood, and The Hood is a tangible contribution to the community. It’s Eden Park’s chance to thank our neighbours for their continued support of our national stadium by providing benefits not available anywhere else.”

Gilmours Mt Roskill joins Auckland Rugby, the Blues, Master Painters New Zealand, Philips, Pop-up Globe and Resene as supporters of The Hood.

Gilmours Mt Roskill owner Aaron Kedzlie said: “Being New Zealand-owned, we’re always keen to support the local community. Through this partnership we can offer locals a great range and real savings if they’re planning a bulk shop for a family gathering, special occasion or stocking up for the office.”

With a capacity of 50,000, Eden Park is New Zealand’s largest stadium.

Nick Sautner will be speaking at TheStadiumBusiness Summit at Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester on June 12-13. To find out more about the programme for the event, please click here.
