Industry appointments round-up: March 3-9

A round-up of key appointments from within the sports and events industries over the past week.

Blockchain ticketing solutions provider Aventus, a London-based organisation, has appointed Rob Edwards as its new chief operations officer. Edwards has 25 years of experience in the industry, working with ticketing software suppliers, ticketing companies and live entertainment organisations.

Fan engagement specialist FanThreeSixty has appointed Jason Houseworth as its president and chief executive. Houseworth will be responsible for driving the company’s vision and growth for innovation in sports and entertainment. Houseworth joins FanThreeSixty from tax software team H&R Block.

Ignite Architects has appointed Patrick Maguire as an associate to its special projects team in Auckland, New Zealand.

Timo Rohwedder has renewed his contract as managing director at Berlin’s Olympiastadion (pictured). The new contract runs until September 30, 2023. His initial three-year term was due to expire this September.

United 2026, the joint bid from the United States, Mexico and Canada to host the FIFA World Cup football tournament in 2026, has appointed Carlos Cordeiro, Steven Reed and Decio de María as co-chairs. Cordeiro is the new president of U.S. Soccer, with Reed and de María holding the same roles with Canada Soccer and the Mexican Football Federation (FMF), respectively.

The new Dubai Arena is seeking a director of finance and director of event operations.

Roberto Siviero has been appointed as general manager, operations for the 2019 Copa America national team football tournament in Brazil.

Charlene Nyantekyi has been appointed as general manager of Club Wembley at the English Football Association. Nyantekyi joins Club Wembley from electric car-racing series Formula E, where she served as head of hospitality sales and operations at Formula E.

Phillip Joseph Mead has been named as the ticketing manager for international agency and concert presentation company Marshall Arts.

Derek Matthews has been appointed as venue ticketing manager at Ticketmaster Middle East.
