Swansea tackling Liberty Stadium accessibility with Zeelo

On-demand coach service Zeelo has partnered with Swansea City in a move that will provide fans of the Premier League football club with more ways to travel to Liberty Stadium on match days.

Zeelo uses an AI-powered platform known as RINA which enables it to understand where there are large numbers of fans who may have difficulties travelling to home matches. This demand is then satisfied with executive coaches being laid on for journeys right to the stadium.

For Swansea fans, 13 locations across south-west Wales, including Llanelli, Aberdare, Neath and The Mumbles, will be set up for coaches. It is hoped the initiative will enhance the match-day experience for fans, with Zeelo coaches to be granted priority entrance and exit at the stadium, avoiding the car parking queues at Liberty Stadium.

Zeelo co-founder Barney Williams said: “Getting to the Liberty Stadium on match day can itself be a big hurdle for Swans fans to clear just to support the team. We want to get as many fans as possible to the stadium every time Swansea plays and this partnership allows us to provide a stress-free way to get to the game which is tailored for the fans.”

A Swansea spokesperson added: “It’s great that we can now offer this service to our fans. We are constantly looking to improve the transport issues on a match day and this service from Zeelo is the first step towards that goal. Fans can enjoy a match day with a drink or two and get to and from the game quickly and stress free.”

Swansea fans will be given their first ride free of charge by using the promo code ‘SWANS’ when purchasing a ticket.

Zeelo currently operates services for 12 Premier League, Championship and Premiership Rugby clubs across the UK.
