Industry appointments round-up: March 10-16

A round-up of key appointments from within the sports and events industries over the past week.

Event Genius has appointed Lauren Lytle as its head of technical operations. Lytle (pictured) joins the Leeds-based ticketing and event technology company from Texas-based Front Gate, where she served as senior client operations manager and director of international operations.

The Madison Square Garden Company has appointed Victoria Parker as executive vice-president of its MSG Productions division. Parker joins the Company from Verizon’s Oath Studios, where she served as head of creative strategy. Her new role will involve work on the company’s venue expansion plans, including the new MSG Sphere.

The NFL American football league has promoted Maryann Turcke to the position of chief operating officer. The promotion makes Turcke the highest-ranking woman at the league offices. Turcke previously oversaw the running of NFL Network and she will now lead the league’s marketing, communications, human resources, international and events, and technology departments.

Production company Saville AV has named Chris Philpott as head of operations at its Live Events division. Philpott joins Saville AV from Digicomm, a Dubai-based company for whom he served as director of projects.

US technology company Apple has appointed Gail Hunter as its new events director, according to the Silicon Valley Business Journal. Hunter joins Apple from NBA basketball team the Golden State Warriors, where she served as president of public affairs and event management. Hunter has held other senior roles within the NBA and Major League Baseball.

Joe Imbriaco has been named as the new general manager of the CFE Arena, the 10,000-seat venue on the campus of University of Central Florida. Imbriaco previously held the same role at Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine.
