English Championship football club Preston North End has been recognised for its innovative ‘GAME Pods’ initiative at its Deepdale stadium with a nomination for this year’s TheStadiumBusiness Awards.
The Lancashire club has been nominated in the Sponsorship, Sales & Marketing Award category.
The GAME Pods initiative saw gaming stations introduced in all three home stands at Deepdale. The initiative was a first in the UK and saw Preston work alongside community partner GAME Digital and YSS.
The initiative is designed to enhance the match-day experience at Deepdale, with supporters able to compete against one another on EA Sports’ FIFA titles.
