TheStadiumBusiness Awards spotlight: AAMI Park

AAMI Park in the Australian city of Melbourne has been nominated in the Venue of the Year Award category at this year’s TheStadiumBusiness Awards.

The multi-purpose stadium hosted 58 major public events in 2017, welcoming over 784,666 patrons through its turnstiles.

It will face Australian competition for the Venue of the Year award in the shape of the newly-opened Optus Stadium in Perth. The other nominees are Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, CenturyLink Field in Seattle, Etihad Stadium in Manchester and Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.

Brian Morris, chief executive of the Melbourne and Olympic Parks Trust, which operates AAMI Park, said: “An array of noteworthy and socially responsible initiatives, charity events and customer experience enhancements have been developed and delivered to boost the venue’s contribution to society.

“This invaluably benefits and enriches AAMI Park’s entire community, the people of Victoria and all its visitors.”

The 2018 TheStadiumBusiness Awards will take place at Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester on June 12. A full list of this year’s nominees can be found here.
