LA Galaxy scores Kinecta, Kona partnerships

Major League Soccer franchise LA Galaxy has signed partnerships with financial services company Kinecta Federal Credit Union and Kona Brewing Company.

The multi-year deal with Kinecta incorporates LA Galaxy’s StubHub Center and names the company as the exclusive financial services partner of the team and the venue. The partnership was brokered by AEG Global Partnerships.

Kinecta also becomes a founding partner of StubHub Center, and the naming-rights partner of the Galaxy’s Torrance-based indoor football and recreational facility. The deal marks Kinecta’s first move into sports sponsorship.

Fans will be provided with a range of community engagement opportunities, one-off special events and youth outreach initiatives.

Kinecta’s support of the indoor facility, which will now be known as the Kinecta Soccer Center, will provide locals with year-round access to fustal and high-quality sports programming. The facility features five indoor futsal fields, two turf fields, three volleyball courts, a training centre and numerous other recreational amenities. The facility will continue to host events such as kids camps, tournaments and leagues.

In addition, Kinecta and LA Galaxy will team up to launch a youth financial literacy program for the club’s high-school academy team. Kinecta will also receive extensive brand exposure at StubHub Center on match days, while two Kinecta-branded ATM machines will be located at the stadium.

“Joining forces with Kinecta is a fantastic opportunity for AEG to add value and bring new forms of engagement and soccer enjoyment to our LA Galaxy fans at StubHub Center,” Robert Vartan, senior director of global partnerships at AEG, said. “Equally important, our partnership with a best-in-class brand like Kinecta will accelerate our respective and extensive efforts to give back and make a positive impact on the communities we both serve.”

Meanwhile, Kona’s multi-year deal with LA Galaxy names it as the official craft beer of the club. As part of the agreement, a Lanai-style bar has opened at StubHub Center.

The bar will feature Kona’s core year-round portfolio on tap, with products such as Big Wave Golden Ale, Longboard Island Lager and Hanalei Island IPA to be sold, along with seasonal beers.

The bar is located on the south end of the main concourse of the stadium and will be open during the entire LA Galaxy season, as well as during most publicly ticketed events at the venue.

The Kona Lanai officially opened on Saturday for the Galaxy’s derby against Los Angeles FC, which saw Zlatan Ibrahimovic come off the bench and score twice to secure a 4-3 victory for the home side on his MLS debut.
