Fan power: Film documents rebuilding of Czech stadium

A film is being released to document the rebuilding of a football stadium by fans in the Czech Republic.

The film, entitled Stadion, follows fans in the city of Brno over a three-year period from 2014 to 2016.

The Stadion Za Lužánkami in Brno was a major sports stadium in Czechoslovakia during the 1960s and 1970s before falling into disrepair after tenants FC Zbrojovka Brno moved to a new ground in 2001.

Much to the anger of fans, the stadium became overgrown and so they took it upon themselves to try and restore the venue to its former state.

The film, which showcases the power of fan culture, is set to be shown in Brno at the Fléda club later this month.
