LG to boost hospitality at Orlando Pirates

South African football club Orlando Pirates has entered into a partnership with LG to support a planned upgrade of hospitality facilities at its home stadium.

LG UHD TVs will now be installed in hospitality areas at the 38,000-capacity Orlando Stadium, while the club also intends to make similar improvements to its Rand Stadium training facility.

The Pirates will also introduce the ‘LG Fans Player of The Month’ award, where fans can vote online for their favourite player each month of the season, starting from the 2018-19 campaign.

Each winning player will be awarded the latest LG V30+ Smartphone, while one fan that casts their vote in the month will win an LG / Orlando Pirates hamper.

“The Orlando Pirates brand is synonymous with innovation and quality; it is through these principles of continuous evolution that this great brand is able to partner up with an equally innovative and quality brand in LG Electronics,” Pirates brand and sponsorship manager Joseph Bertrand said.

“The synergy between these two brands made it a natural progression for us to partner up with LG Electronics, as they perfectly complement the character of the club and our aim of being a world class team.”

Antonio dos Santos, general manager of consumer electronics at LG South Africa, added: “This is an exciting time for both brands. LG is one of the most respected premium electronics brands in the world, so it’s only fitting that we partner with one of the biggest football clubs in Africa.

“The prospect of the partnership between these two great brands is exciting because LG can now bring the exceedingly popular Orlando Pirates straight into fans’ homes.”
