Abanca steps up as Celta Vigo stadium sponsor

Financial services company Abanca has agreed a deal to take on naming rights to the Balaidos stadium, home of Spanish LaLiga football club Celta Vigo.

Abanca has signed a 10-year deal to sponsor the stadium, which will now be known as the Abanca Balaidos. Abanca is an existing partner of the club.

Over the next month, Celta Vigo will introduce Abanca branding throughout the stadium to reflect the facility’s new name.

As part of the agreement, Abanca’s logo will also appear on the back of the team’s shirts and training kit. It will also have a presence at Celta Vigo’s training ground and team bus, and be promoted through club advertising campaigns. Additionally, the company will hold the right to use Celta Vigo players during promotional activities.

The Balaidos stadium has a capacity of 29,000 and has served as Celta Vigo’s home since 1928. The stadium was one of the host venues during Spain’s staging of the FIFA World Cup in 1982.

Celta Vigo finished the 2017-18 LaLiga season in 13th place.
