The Lagardère Sports agency has today (Monday) been appointed by Leicester City to become the Premier League club’s exclusive LED perimeter advertising sales agency.

The multi-year deal is effective from the 2018-19 season and will see Lagardère Sports broker deals for sponsors that will benefit from pitch-side exposure at Leicester’s King Power Stadium.

The deal strengthens Lagardère Sports’ portfolio of UK football rights, with the agency representing over 40 football clubs exclusively. Next season it will hold exclusive LED advertising rights at a minimum of 12 Premier League clubs.

Carl Woodman, UK managing director for Lagardère Sports, said: “We’re delighted to be working with an exciting club like Leicester City. The team continue to rouse emotions and inspire fans across the world and we’re looking forward to utilising their global appeal to deliver maximum value.

“With their Premier League matches broadcast in over 228 territories, the addition of Leicester City FC to our extensive club portfolio continues to offer a fantastic global platform for our clients, and we’re ready to create advertising packages that will allow international brands to leverage the popularity of football and increase their visibility in key markets.”

Jonathan Gregory, commercial director at Leicester, added: “Lagardère Sports is at the forefront of football advertising sales in the UK and its strong global network confirmed it was the ideal partner for our club. We wanted to secure strong international brands to be associated with our football club, and with their market leading position and clear track record of success, we’re certain that having Lagardère Sports’ support will help us achieve these goals.”
