Redeveloped Anfield to feature two dedicated fan zones

English Premier League football club Liverpool has continued the countdown to the opening of the redeveloped Main Stand at its Anfield home ground by revealing details of two dedicated fan zones at the stadium.

Fan Zone-Anfield Road and Fan Zone-Paisley Square will be in operation ahead of Saturday’s game against Leicester City. The zones will feature live music, food and drink outlets, pop-up retail stores and interactive games and activities.

Fan Zone-Anfield Road will be situated on Anfield Road, opposite the ground’s famous Shankly Gates, with Fan Zone-Paisley Square to be located between the redeveloped Main Stand and the Kop.

“Anfield’s new fan zones are a great way for fellow supporters to get together before the game, which has always been an important part of the match-day experience,” Liverpool’s operations director, Andrew Parkinson, said.

“Fans will be able to enjoy more entertainment and enhanced facilities as part of their pre-match offer, with a full programme of activities planned for both Anfield Road and Paisley Square this season.”

Over the weekend, Liverpool also confirmed that the Main Stand’s lower concourse would feature wooden seats as a tribute to the stadium’s original structure.

The Main Stand’s concourse areas will also feature murals paying tribute to some of Liverpool’s most iconic moments, with decades-old newspaper clippings among the decorations.
