The contractor for Qatar Foundation Stadium, one of the host arenas for the 2022 edition of football’s Fifa World Cup in the country, has been confirmed by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), which is responsible for delivering the stadia, infrastructure and legacy for the tournament.
The SC has announced that J&P WLL, Conspel Qatar WLL, J&P Avax SA and J&P (Overseas) will oversee the development of the stadium as part of a joint venture.
The stadium will host games up until the quarter-final stage of the World Cup and is scheduled to be ready by 2019.
“Over the next four years we will be working closely with our new partners to ensure we deliver an outstanding, legacy-oriented stadium at Education City that will serve the community long after the last ball is kicked,” Hassan al-Thawadi, secretary general at the SC, said, according to the Gulf-Times newspaper.
