Manchester City signs innovative partnership with Ubtech

The fan experience at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium is set to be "reinvented" after the English Premier League football club signed an innovative partnership with Ubtech, a Chinese company that designs and manufactures robots.

Ubtech has been named as Manchester City’s official robot partner and the club claims it is the first in Europe to agree such a deal.

Under the agreement, co-branded products will be promoted across Manchester City's digital channels, while fan competitions will also be held.

Specific details of the in-stadium elements of the deal have not yet been unveiled, but Tom Glick, group chief commercial officer at City Football Group, which owns the club, believes the partnership will break new ground.

“Partnering with Ubtech, who are a world leader in their field and share our passion for innovation and cooperation, is a natural fit for Manchester City,” he said. “Together, we can reinvent the fan experience both at the Etihad Stadium and online by using pioneering technology and putting fans at the heart of the partnership.”
