US Bank Stadium to feature alcoholic coffee bar

A new alcoholic coffee bar will open this weekend at US Bank Stadium, the new home ground of the Minnesota Vikings NFL American football franchise.

The bar will open for the first time during the Vikings’ game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday and will be located on the main concourse in the southwest corner of the stadium.

Local coffee retailer Caribou Coffee will oversee the running of the bar. The company yesterday (Wednesday) agreed a deal to become the official coffee of the Vikings. Caribou will develop three specialty coffees for Vikings fans, while the menu will also feature non-alcoholic beverages.

“We pride ourselves on providing our fans with a memorable experience at US Bank Stadium and this partnership with Caribou will certainly add to that,” Steve LaCroix, executive vice-president and chief marketing officer at the Vikings, said.

“Being able to work with another Minnesota company to bring these drinks inside US Bank Stadium is something we’re certain our fans will enjoy.”

US Bank Stadium, which officially opened in late July, has already staged two Vikings pre-season games. Its first sporting event was a football friendly between English Premier League team Chelsea and Italian Serie A outfit AC Milan on August 3.
