NBA’s Kings launch app to tie in with stadium move

NBA basketball franchise the Sacramento Kings has teamed up with technology solutions provider Built.io to launch a new mobile application ahead of its move to a new stadium.

The team will move into Golden 1 Center in October ahead of the new NBA season. In a bid to improve the fan experience inside the arena, an official ‘Sacramento Kings Golden 1 Center App’ has been launched.

The app, which is available now on iOS and Android devices, will provide fans with up-to-the-date in-game statistics while they are watching the action at Golden 1 Center.

The app will also include in-game gambling, multi-angle replays, live streams, daily news and player data. In addition, fans can manage their parking passes through the app.

“By connecting fans directly to the advanced features of Golden 1 Center through a new app, we’re redefining and enhancing the guest experience,” Kings chief technology officer Ryan Montoya said.

“Built.io’s digital platform provides us with a nimble and robust technology foundation that allows us to test and iterate innovations with fans on demand, try new services and incorporate them directly into the mobile app. As the technology evolves, we’ll be able to provide the best experience to our fans for years to come.”

The 19,000-capacity Golden 1 Center will also stage music concerts and other events.
