Meis Architects to work on new Everton stadium

US sports specialist Meis Architects has been appointed to work on the new stadium for English Premier League football club Everton.

Citing a source close to the project, the Architects Journal website said that the company is working closely with the club on plans to relocate from its current Goodison Park home.

Although neither Everton nor Meis Architects have commented on the reports, Dan Meis, managing director of the company, posted pictures on his personal Twitter account of him watching the team’s 3-1 win against Middlesbrough on Saturday.

Earlier this month, The Business Journals website also reported that Xan Young, a principal at Meis Architects, is working on the design of a new stadium for Italian Serie A club AS Roma.

Meis Architects is currently working on a number of major projects in the US, such as the new 75,000-seater NFL American football stadium in Los Angeles, California, as well as a Major League Soccer stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
