Roma chief in funding talks – report

Roma president James Pallotta is reportedly in London today (Thursday) seeking investors for the Italian Serie A football club’s proposed new stadium.

Roma, who currently play at the Stadio Olimpico with rivals Lazio, have submitted plans to build a stadium of their own. It is hoped that construction of the Stadio della Roma will commence in March 2017.

According to the Corriere dello Sport newspaper, Pallotta has been introduced to a number of potential investors from the Far East by Franco Baldini, the former technical at both Roma and English club Tottenham Hotspur.

The newspaper said that Baldini has strong relationships with individuals from Asia who are eager to invest in Italian football.
