Roughriders launch fan wall initiative at new home

The Saskatchewan Roughriders Canadian Football League gridiron team has launched a new fan wall initiative that aims to reward supporters for their commitment to the construction of the club’s new Mosaic Stadium.

The initiative is part of the Build the Pride Capital Campaign, which the team is leading as a way to thank residents in the city of Regina and the Saskatchewan province.

Any fan who makes a contribution of C$300 (£187/€207/$228) or more to the campaign will be given the chance to have their name recognised on a granite fan wall at the new stadium, which opened earlier this month.

Three community-themed granite fan walls will surround a fan-inspired monument at the new Mosaic Stadium. A limited number of names will be engraved on one side of each wall.

“Over the past couple of years we have had many inquiries from fans who wanted to support the stadium project,” Roughriders president and chief executive Craig Reynolds said. “Through working with the South Saskatchewan Community Foundation and the City of Regina, fans will be able to show their support for this incredible new stadium, a community use facility and new home of the Roughriders.

“We have designed an inspiring plaza that will celebrate our incredible fan base while providing permanent recognition to fans for their generous contribution to the Build The Pride Capital Campaign.”

Proceeds from the campaign will be donated to the South Saskatchewan Community Foundation and will be designated to support charitable projects in Regina.
