The Jockey Club extends supply deal with Arena Group

The Jockey Club, the group that oversees the running of 15 of the UK’s leading racecourses, has extended its partnership with events specialist Arena Group.

Under the three-year agreement, Arena Group will supply Cheltenham, Aintree, Epsom Downs and Newmarket racecourses with temporary structures, interior design, furniture and tableware, spectator seating and scaffolding. The deal covers some of the most notable dates in the UK racing calendar.

Arena Group has been working with The Jockey Club for more than 26 years and the extension comes after a record year, which included the installation of the largest triple-deck hospitality temporary structure at Cheltenham. Measuring 125m in length and spanning 12,400sq m, the installation was made for the 2016 Cheltenham Festival.

In addition, Arena Group supported The Jockey Club in its transformation of this year’s Grand National at Aintree Racecourse by installing of over 7,750sq m of temporary structures.

Ian Sidgwick, group purchasing director at The Jockey Club, said: “Arena Group has worked closely with Jockey Club Racecourses over several years, advising on and delivering temporary environments. They support us in continuously raising the bar with new ideas to get the best value from our budgets, with flexibility to change their infrastructure to best suit our needs.”

Grahame Muir, chief executive Arena UK and Europe, added: “At Arena Group, we pride ourselves with delivering temporary infrastructure of the highest standard to the most prestigious sporting venues and events in the UK, and this contract win is testament to the value, forward-thinking innovation and expertise we bring to clients.”
