Arena Group expands portfolio with RIM Scaffolding deal

Arena Group has struck a deal to acquire RIM Scaffolding’s event equipment, management and operational teams.

The transaction will allow Arena Group to expand its event infrastructure services, having acquired a variety of services, as well as temporary structures, scaffold systems, viewing decks, camera platforms and glass handrails.

RIM, which is based in the UK city of Leeds, has designed and built structures for events such as golf’s Ryder Cup, the Wimbledon tennis championships and the Cheltenham Gold Cup horseracing event. The company has expanded into China, India and the UAE in recent years, according to Isionline.co.uk.

The acquired business will now be known as Arena RIM Scaffolding and its managing director, Willy Irish, said: “Arena Group has the expertise that has seen it deliver to the finest sporting events in the world many of which RIM have been involved in, closely aligning both business’ skills and expertise. I am excited to join the Arena team at this progressive time of expansion and Arena RIM Scaffolding will help deliver additional services to a prestigious roster of clients on a global platform.”

Grahame Muir (pictured), chief executive of Arena Group UK & Europe, added: “RIM Scaffolding is a business that we have long admired, having first started working with them many years ago as our labour contractors. Both businesses share the vision for quality and professionalism.”
