Orlando City honours shooting victims at new stadium

North American Major League Soccer (MLS) club Orlando City has installed a special section of seats at its new stadium to honour the victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting earlier this year.

In June, 49 people were killed at the Orlando nightclub in what was the deadliest act of violence against LGBTQ people in the history of the US.

In memory of the victims, the club has now installed 49 rainbow-coloured seats in section 12 of the new stadium, with the area being dedicated to the LGBTQ community.

Orlando City club president Phil Rawlins revealed the special tribute in a post on his official Twitter account.

The stadium is due to be finished in time for the 2017 MLS season.
