Mercedes-Benz Stadium announces restaurant partners

Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the under-construction future home of the Atlanta Falcons NFL American football team and the Atlanta United Major League Soccer expansion franchise, has unveiled its list of restaurant partners ahead of opening next year.

The partners will operate under a fan-friendly pricing policy, offering items that are priced comparably or the same as what is found in their respective restaurants, rather than including an extortionate mark-up, as is usually the case. The list of fan-selected partners predominantly comprises local outlets.

Local partners include: pizza brand Antico, Bruster’s Real Ice Cream, fast-food chain Chick-fil-A, Delia’s Chicken Sausage, Farm Burger, Fox Bros Bar-B-Q, Spanish restaurant Iberian Pig, Jim N Nicks barbecue, the Kevin Gillespie’s Gamechanger restaurant, popsicle chain King of Pops, Miss D’s Popcorn, natural and organic food producer Snackology 101 Market, Sublime Doughnuts and hotdog chain The Varsity.

Golden Brown & Delicious, a southern concept from nationally-renowned restaurant group Concentrics Restaurants, will also have a presence inside the stadium.

Over 4,000 Falcons and United supporters were polled by Mercedes-Benz Stadium to determine the food choices.

Several partners, including Kevin Gillespie, Fox Bros Bar-B-Q and Concentrics Restaurants will develop exclusive menus for the stadium.

“It was important that our restaurant offerings not only reflect the world-class quality of Atlanta’s culinary scene but also represent what our fans said they wanted,” Mike Gomes, senior vice-president of fan experience at AMB Sports & Entertainment, which operates the stadium, said. “In addition to our great core food and beverage concepts, the variety of local partner options in the stadium will give guests the opportunity to sample the best of what Atlanta has to offer while maintaining our fan-first philosophy.”

Earlier this year, the stadium introduced a fan-first model for its food and beverage programme, offering what it claims are among the lowest prices in major league sports and entertainment venues, as well as higher quality food, greater variety and quicker service.

The 70,000-capacity Mercedes-Benz Stadium is due to open in time for the 2017 NFL season.
