Golden State Warriors call on Accenture to aid fan experience

The Golden State Warriors NBA basketball franchise has partnered with professional services company Accenture in a move that is designed to enhance the in-arena fan experience.

The multi-year deal names Accenture as the official technology innovation partner of the Warriors. The relationship begins immediately, with Accenture’s services to be used to enhance the fan experience at the Warriors’ Oracle Arena.

Accenture will also serve as a founding partner of Chase Center (pictured), the Warriors’ future home arena that is due to open in time for the 2019-20 NBA season.

The two parties will work together to deliver an “immersive and engaging experience” for guests and fans at the Chase Center complex, which will also feature restaurants, retail businesses, offices and plazas.

Fan engagement solutions that could potentially be used at Chase Center will be trialled at Oracle Arena. Warriors supporters will have a say on any potential experiences included at Chase Center, with the club having launched ‘Fannovate’, an fan-involvement initiative designed to harness ideas and input.

“Accenture has the talent, experience and insight to design and implement innovative experiences that will excite our fans, our tenants and the public, while defining a new standard for community-centred sports and entertainment facilities,” Rick Welts, president and chief operating officer for the Warriors, said. “We are pleased to have Accenture join our team as we prepare to break ground.”

The Warriors marked the partnership with the introduction of a virtual reality experience for all supporters during yesterday’s (Thursday’s) game against the Houston Rockets at Oracle Arena.
