Tulloch Homes offers to hand stadium to Inverness CT

Scottish Premiership football club Inverness Caledonian Thistle has been handed a boost after its partner, property developer Tulloch Homes, offered the team ownership of its home stadium.

Tulloch Homes built the Caledonian Stadium and currently leases it to Inverness CT. In a show of generosity, the company has now offered to hand control of the 7,500-capacity ground to the club.

In a statement, Inverness CT said that a management buyout of Tulloch Homes in March 2015 led to 18 months of planning between the two parties, which culminated in an announcement last Friday.

“An enormous amount of painstaking work has been undertaken within Tulloch Homes to enable us to make this offer,” Tulloch Homes chief executive George Fraser said. “We are hopeful that today’s announcement can be quickly formalised, putting the club on a firm financial footing from which we all expect it will continue to thrive.”

Inverness CT chairman Kenny Cameron added: “Financially this offer from Tulloch Homes is an enormous gesture to a club of our size. When George approached me to tell me what they were planning, I simply couldn’t believe it.

“Tulloch’s have played a significant part in Caley Thistle’s fortunes over the last 15 years. The building of the north and south stands, which allowed us to meet the criteria for promotion to the SPL, transformed the club.”
