The Gabba dives in with new pool area

The Gabba cricket stadium in Brisbane has opened a new pool area that will help fans keep cool while watching matches.

The 32,000-litre infinity pool is the first installation of its kind at a cricket venue, with supporters in the Australian city able to enjoy the facility during two sessions per day, each of which will last for three-and-a-half hours.

Fans will be picked at random from the crowd to use the pool.

According to the Sportskeeda website, a Cricket Australia spokesman said: “It's a first for cricket, it's a first to have a pool deck at the cricket. It's a real fan-engagement type of idea, to give them something else to come along and enjoy the cricket with.”
