Leonardo-Finmeccanica signs MoU with B Futura

Leonardo-Finmeccanica has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the B Futura division of Serie B, the second tier of Italian football, to provide support in stadium sports security systems.

Under the agreement, which will run for three years, Leonardo will advise B Futura on how best to incorporate the latest technology into club facilities.

Leonardo will provide technology implementation guidelines for any new construction or renovation project started by one of the 22 clubs competing in Serie B.

To date, five clubs – Cagliari, Crotone and Pescara, which are currently competing in the top-tier Serie A, and Avellino and Vicenza from Serie B – have been working with B Futura to develop modern new stadium facilities. The first facility to open will be Cagliari’s new stadium in time for the 2019-20 season after the project was approved on November 10.

Leonardo has significant experience in management and security systems at major events, including the Sochi 2014 winter Olympic Games and the 2013 World Cycling Championships in Florence. Leonardo was also the official global partner of Milan Expo 2015 for the Safe City platform and main operation centre.
