Manchester United’s Old Trafford is the best stadium in the English Premier League, according to users of travel website TripAdvisor.
In a study carried out by the Daily Mirror newspaper, Old Trafford came out on top ahead of Liverpool’s Anfield stadium and the Emirates Stadium, home of Arsenal.
Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium placed fourth, Leicester City’s King Power Stadium fifth and Tottenham’s White Hart Lane sixth. Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge, Sunderland’s Stadium of Light, Southampton’s St Mary’s and Middlesbrough’s Riverside Stadium completed the top 10.
Factors considered by TripAdvisor users include match-day experience, stadium tours, behind-the-scenes access and museums.
TripAdvisor spokesperson James Kay told the Mirror: “With new interactive museums and state-of-the-art stadium facilities, clubs are increasingly adding new features to their stadium tours in a bid to encourage fan visits outside of match-days.
“Often costing significantly less than a match ticket, these tours are a great way to soak in the surroundings of some of the world’s most famous sporting arenas.”
