Zenit Arena fitted with large-scale Colosseo LED screens

Colosseo EAS, a Slovakia-based LED design, multimedia and statistic solutions company for sports venues, has fitted two large-scale LED screens at Zenit Arena, one of the stadia scheduled to stage games during football’s 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia.

Each screen has an active LED area of over 315 square metres and features 16mm LED technology. Colosseo has claimed that  the screens are the largest of their kind in football stadia across the world. The screens will display live action and slow-motion replays, and will feature a large digital space for promotional and advertising campaigns.

The screens are located on opposite stadium corners and have been mounted on the steel and aluminium structures that are attached to the roof and equipped with five catwalks to allow for easy access. Colosseo said that the screens have been designed to deal with strong winds from the nearby sea.

The 69,000-capacity Zenit Arena is also scheduled to host games during this year’s Confederations Cup, which will serve as a warm-up for the World Cup.

A Russian Premier League game between Zenit Saint Petersburg and Ural Yekaterinburg is scheduled to take place at Zenit Arena on April 23, with the fixture to serve as a test match ahead of the Confederations Cup.
