SunTrust Park to set first with kid-friendly attractions

The Atlanta Braves Major League Baseball franchise has signed a new multi-year partnership with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in a move that is designed to enhance the experience for young supporters at SunTrust Park, the team’s new stadium.

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta will host the ‘Hope and Will’s Sandlot’ kid-friendly play area, which is set to feature the first-ever zip line and climbing tower inside a professional sporting venue. Visitors will be able to use the new Braves app to reserve timeslots at the attractions.

A batting cage will also be opened, while a host of interactive games, child-friendly food and merchandise will be available to sample.

“Braves games have always been a fantastic family outing and SunTrust Park will feature an even larger space for baseball-themed, kids’ activities thanks to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta,” Derek Schiller, Braves president, business, said.

The team is set to officially move into SunTrust Park later this month ahead of the start of the new MLB season in April. University of Georgia’s baseball team will play Missouri at SunTrust Park on April 8 in what will be the first event open to the general public at the 41,500-capacity venue. The game will raise money for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
