Kia extends Oval sponsorship

Korean automotive company Kia has reached an agreement to retain naming rights to the Oval cricket ground in London until the end of 2020.

Kia struck the three-year extension with County Championship club Surrey, the stadium’s tenant, which it also sponsors.

Kia will continue to benefit from brand exposure on advertising boards and stands around the stadium as part of the agreement.

Since Kia began sponsoring Surrey and the Oval in 2011, the ground has witnessed six years of cricket at the highest level, including two final Ashes Test matches and seen Twenty20 crowds more than double to over 130,000 spectators in 2016.

On July 27, the Oval will become only the fourth ground in the world to host 100 Test matches when England face off against South Africa.
