Derby County submit plans for new restaurant and bar area at Pride Park

English Championship football club Derby County has submitted a planning application to the local council for the construction of a new bar and restaurant at its Pride Park stadium.

The Derby Telegraph newspaper reports that the new space would be located in the south-west corner of the 33,000-seat stadium and could create up to 12 jobs.

Planning documents submitted by Matthew Montague Architects on behalf of Derby show that the club is seeking to convert the area of the ground, currently occupied by a fitness suite, into a restaurant and bar space.

The Telegraph’s report added that the area would have a floor space of 531 square metres and would be open from 11am to midnight, seven days a week.

The application will be considered by Derby City Council at a later date.
