Houston Dynamo sign up to AXS’s Flash Seats

Major League Soccer franchise the Houston Dynamo is to implement AXS’s Flash Seats reselling platform at its BBVA Compass Stadium.

Flash Seats is an online portal for fans to buy and sell tickets securely, while also allowing them to use their smart phones as a paperless ticket.

The system permits fans to digitally transfer their tickets to other people if they are unable to attend an event at the team’s 22,000-capacity home ground. Houston Dynamo said the AXS platform gives it the opportunity to centralise its ticketing operations to provide flexible and updated customer service.

Los Angeles-based AXS will be the exclusive provider for primary and secondary ticket sales for all Dynamo home games and all events at BBVA Compass Stadium.

“We are excited to introduce Flash Seats at all of our Dynamo, Dash and Stadium events, and we believe that this will make things easier for fans,” said Houston Dynamo president Chris Canetti.

“Our whole world is becoming more and more mobile, and ticketing is no different. This platform gives fans the ability to control their whole ticketing experience from start to finish from their phone, while also providing added safety and security.”

Supporters who wish to resell their paper and print-at-home tickets will be able to convert their them by calling the Dynamo ticketing service office. Those tickets will be re-issued as Flash Seats, at which point a user can list them for sale within the Flash Seats Marketplace.

In addition to the Dynamo, AXS works with other MLS teams including Real Salt Lake, FC Dallas, Colorado Rapids and the LA Galaxy.

The multi-year deal comes after MLS franchise Orlando City recently employed a paperless ticketing strategy at its new stadium, which is scheduled to open next month ahead of the 2017 season. The Seattle Sounders also updated their mobile app in an attempt to improve their mobile ticketing system.
