Carolina Hurricanes, the NHL ice hockey team, has entered into a partnership with IT networking solutions provider Extreme Networks in an effort to enhance the experience of fans at its PNC Arena.
Under the agreement, Extreme Networks will deliver high-density Wi-Fi at the venue; with support from 450 ExtremeWireless access points that provide mobile connectivity to approximately 20,000 fans.
In addition, Extreme Networks will implement ExtremeManagement and ExtremeAnalytics to deliver real-time insights and maximise Wi-Fi performance at arena.
Glenn Johnson, vice-president of information technology at Gale Force Sports and Entertainment, owner and operator of PNC Arena, said: “We wanted our fans to have access to a reliable network that would support their mobile needs and enable them to share their game experience with family and friends.
“With Extreme’s solution, we not only met this goal, but also had strong customer support along the way.”
