Major League Baseball franchise the Chicago White Sox has announced plans to join forces with Mexican beer brand Modelo Especial to construct a new bar at its Guaranteed Rate Field.
This week, Modelo Especial agreed a deal to become the new official import beer of the White Sox and will receive branding exposure inside and outside of the team’s 41,000-capacity ballpark.
The agreement also includes plans for a Modelo Especial-branded bar on the left field concourse inside the venue. ‘Casa Modelo’ will be open to fans at all White Sox home games.
Brooks Boyer, senior vice-president of sales and marketing for the White Sox, said: “As a rapidly growing brand with strong roots in our home in Chicago, Modelo is an ideal first partner for our import category, sharing our commitment to excellence for our customers and the White Sox fan base.”
The White Sox’s arena was renamed Guaranteed Rate Field late last year through a sponsorship deal with the finance company, having been called the US Cellular Field since 2003.
