NBA’s Grizzlies target enhanced Wi-Fi with Comcast Business

The Memphis Grizzlies NBA basketball franchise has entered into a partnership with communications specialist Comcast Business in an effort to boost Wi-Fi at its FedExForum arena.

Under the agreement, Comcast Business, a subsidiary of telecommunications conglomerate Comcast, will provide a 3GB fibre connection at the venue.

The Memphis Business Journal reports that the tech firm will also furnish the back-end infrastructure in order to support emerging technology applications that enhance visitor experience at the arena, including complimentary Wi-Fi access.

In addition, Comcast Business, which last year completed a multi-million-dollar network investment across greater Memphis, will supply internet service and advanced cloud-based communications services for the team’s front office.

John Walker, executive vice-president of business operations at the Grizzlies, said: “Through our new agreement, fans will soon be able to enjoy our games in more innovative ways. This positions FedExForum as a technologically advanced arena and will dramatically improve the overall fan experience.”
