Uefa, the governing body for European football, has said that more than a third of the tickets to the final of this season’s Champions League club competition will be allocated to sponsors, officials and corporate hospitality programmes.

Uefa will reserve 24,500 tickets for sponsorship and corporate guests, as well as its own staff and various other officials from other football organisations.

“As usual, fans and the general public are being allocated the majority of the tickets for the final, which will be played at the National Stadium of Wales in Cardiff on Saturday 3 June,” Uefa said in a statement on its website.

Uefa is also to retain 11,000 tickets for the final of its Europa League club tournament at the Friends Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.

An overall 48,000 tickets will be on offer for the May 24 match, with each finalist to receive up to 10,000 tickets and a further 17,000 to be offered for public sale on Uefa.com.
