NHL’s Lightning launches arena-focused fan engagement service

NHL ice hockey franchise the Tampa Bay Lightning has linked up with intelligent engagement platform Satisfi Labs to develop a new service designed to boost the experience of visitors to the team’s AMALIE Arena.

The customer service artificial intelligence chat bot will enable fans to access information about the venue and ask questions about the services on offer.

‘ThunderBot’ will focus on ticketing, parking, concessions and other amenities in the AMALIE Arena. The software was used during the final month of the regular season and plans are in place to fully integrate the new service for the 2017-18 campaign.

The bot will be available across the team’s official website and the Lightning text club at 61873, as well as the NHL and AMALIE Arena mobile applications.

Eric Blankenship, vice-president of marketing for the Lightning, said: “Teaming up with Satisfi Labs to bring our fans cutting-edge technology is going to be a very valuable asset for years to come. This new technology will make it much easier and convenient for our fans to attend games and follow the Lightning.”
