PMY Group announces new CEO and advisory board member

PMY Group (PMY), one of Australia’s leading technology strategy, investment and management companies, announced Piers Thompson as its new chief executive (Asia Pacific) and Matthew Pavlich (pictured) as the latest appointment to its advisory board.

The appointment will see current chief operating officer, Piers Thompson, take responsibility for growing the scale of PMY’s operations in Australia and New Zealand along with emerging Asian markets.

Group managing director, Paul Yeomans, who was pleased to announce the exciting next phase in PMY’s expansion plans, said: “We are ecstatic that Piers will take the lead of our Asia Pacific business. Since joining the business in 2015 he has been instrumental in driving our growth and expansion across each state of Australia and New Zealand, and now into Asia. Under Piers leadership we look forward to taking our clients into the next phase of major technology enhancement.”

Thompson was formerly general manager of strategy and projects at the Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust before joining PMY as its chief operating officer in 2015.

Thompson, who will be chief executive (Asia Pacific) of PMY, effective immediately, said: “PMY has been growing rapidly across Australia and now into Asia over the past few years and I’m very excited by the opportunities that lie ahead”

Pavlich, former captain of the Fremantle Dockers, six time All Australian and current president of the AFL players association (AFLPA) will join the PMY advisory board. Pavlich will have a specific responsibility for the PMY business in Western Australia along with leadership development across the PMY Asia Pacific executive.

Pavlich, associated with PMY for some years, said: “the WA market has been an exciting one to be involved with as PMY has continued to service a growing and vibrant market and I look forward to being involved at an advisory level to help drive the company’s growth”

With the appointment of Pavlich, and PMY’s growing Western Australia client base, a permanent presence in the state has been launched. With the opening of the PMY Perth office, Pavlich will take the lead in running PMY’s Perth based projects.

The inclusion of several experienced, senior executives into the PMY Group will drive the Group’s expansion plans throughout Asia and into global markets.
