Bengal cricket chief sets sights on new stadium

Sourav Ganguly, president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), is set to construct a new cricket stadium.

According to OneIndia.com, Ganguly has purchased a 10-acre plot of land near to Kolkata in West Bengal for the project.

Although the former India national team captain is yet to formally announce his plans, sources close to Ganguly said that the chief architect of the national cricket academy in Australia will work on the design of the new venue.

The reported project comes after Ganguly recently finalised plans to construct a modern indoor training centre at Jadavpur University.

The Bengal-based education establishment regularly stages matches and the new training facility will further enhance its cricket facilities.
