Mercedes-Benz Stadium designer Hok names senior VP

US-based architecture and engineering firm Hok has named Chris DeVolder as the senior vice-president and managing principal of its Kansas City office.

Hok has worked on projects such as the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which recently saw its retractable roof close for the first time, as well as Canadian multi-use indoor arena Rogers Place (pictured).

These projects are a part of DeVolder’s portfolio, along with the University of Washington’s Husky Stadium, Notre Dame’s Campus Crossroads project and Kansas City’s 18Broadway urban garden.

DeVolder holds 20 years of experience in managing projects through his time as a senior project leader and sustainable design leader for Hok’s sports, recreation and entertainment practice.

In addition, DeVolder has guided the industry in its approach to the programming, designing, constructing and operating of sports venues.

DeVolder is also a member of Hok’s management and marketing boards.
