Philips Lighting is to transform the lighting system at Parc Olympique Lyonnais (Parc OL) in Lyon, France, to an LED network.
Home to French Ligue 1 football club Olympique Lyonnais, Parc OL will become the first stadium in the country to integrate LED pitch and grandstand lighting with moving entertainment colour spots.
The pitch lighting will comprise 260 Philips ArenaVision LED gen2 fixtures, 20 Philips Vari-Lite VL6000 moving colour projectors and 66 Philips ClearFlood Large fixtures, which will be used in the grandstands.
The entire lighting network, which will be controlled by the Philips Strand NEO control and network system, is due to be installed in time for the first game of the Ligue 1 season on August 5.
Xavier Pierrot, stadium manager at Parc OL, said: “With the implementation of the LED lighting technology and control technology developed by Philips Lighting at Parc OL, we will continue to develop and invest in the stadium as the key event venue in the Lyon metropolitan area.”
Christophe Guidon, public sales director for Philips Lighting in France, added: “Dramatic light shows may be created using the combination of the Philips ArenaVision LED pitch lighting system and moving colour spots. Through this innovative lighting system, we are contributing to the development of Parc OL.”
